The Challenge
A new underground mine reached out to CR to improve their LHD bucket life, resulting in increased machine availability and reduce bucket repair costs. A CR representative proposed to trial Wearpact fitment to reach their goals.
The Solution
The experienced field technicians representing CR inspected the old buckets to understand the wear pattern and configured a fitment to maximize blade life under the operational conditions. A Wearpact system with mid life corners was the recommended solution to maximize blade life.
The Outcome
The Wearpact system achieved 1200hrs life, 500hrs more than the previously installed system. The bucket achieved 5800hrs before rebuild, resulting in saving seven bucket change overs, increasing machine availability by 70 hours in 16 months.
