The Challenge

A new underground mine was looking to improve LHD bucket life to increase machine availability and reduce bucket repair costs. CR’s partner TechMinings proposed trialing Wearpact GET to reach their goals.

The Solution

TechMinings’ experience field technicians inspected old buckets to understand the real wear pattern and configurated a fitment to maximize blades life under that operational conditions. We recommended installing Wearpact LP-1441, +5° lip inclination, with mid life corners to maximize blades life.

The Outcome

Wear Life

GET wear life increased by 500 hours.

Bucket Life

Bucket life reached 5,800 hours, saving seven bucket changeovers.

Machine Availability

As a result of reduced maintenance, machine availability increased 70 hours over 16 months.

The Impact

The Wearpact fitment implemented reached 1,200 hours wear life vs the 700 hours life of the standard CAT Weld on Half Arrow lip. The bucket life reached 5,800 hours which meant saving seven bucket change overs and increased machine availability by 70 hours over 16 months.
