PGA Pro-Am Series Comes to Moranbah

During May the Moranbah Golf Club hosted the latest round of the PGA Mining Town Pro-Am Series. Held over two weeks, the event traveled to towns including Emerald, Tieri, Blackwater, Middlemount, Dysart, and Moranbah.

CQMS Razer were once again proud sponsors of the event providing a number of prizes for the official results as well as auction and charity raffles.

The traveling professionals hosted a series of juniors and ladies golf clinics and participated in an informal sponsor’s golf day on 28 May. The official Pro-Am event was held 29-30 May.

Paul Hayden

Professional Paul Hayden shot rounds of 68 and 65 for an 11-under par 133 total to claim victory by one shot over Harrison Russell.

Hayden started the final round three shots behind overnight leader Aaron Pike and shot the low round of the day 7-under 65 to storm home.

The event was a great opportunity for golfers from around the region to come together with professionals from metropolitan areas and enjoy the fun and friendly atmosphere but also compete for some great prizes.
