CR has today announced they will pledge a donation to help support the American Red Cross in the recovery efforts for the wildfires across Oregon. Close to home for CR staff in our Portland office, the fires have forced thousands from their homes across the state.
In Oregon, more than 2,600 people stayed in emergency lodgings on Tuesday night last week, including shelters and, in some cases, hotels. More than 500 Red Cross disaster workers are helping evacuees both on the ground and virtually. The Red Cross and partners have served more than 148,000 meals and snacks, distributed more than 4,500 relief items, and provided more than 4,800 individual care contacts.
The importance of community support has never been more important, and CR is proud to help support such impactful humanitarian work.
