Dignitary Visit to CR’s Mackay Manufacturing Facility

On Thursday 24 September 2020, Senator the Hon Matthew Canavan, Mr George Christensen MP, Mr Chris Bononno, LNP candidate for Mackay, and Ms Tracie Newitt, LNP Candidate for Mirani visited CR’s Mackay manufacturing facility and met with staff and management. CEO John Barbagallo and Eddie Hutcheon, the Head of Mackay’s operations, discussed the importance of local manufacturing to effectively support and service our regional customers. Mr Hutcheon spoke proudly of the more than forty-year link that CR has to Mackay, having established operations in the Mackay back in 1979.

CR’s Mackay manufacturing facility produces our market-leading Hurricane Dragline Buckets and Rigging. CR collaborates with several other high-quality local suppliers to provide excellent mining-related products and services. This is highlighted by CR’s Hurricane dragline bucket known globally as the leader in design innovation and production quality proudly designed and produced in the Mackay local area.

Our unique scale-testing facility located at CR’s Technology Park in Goodna, Queensland – combined with dragline production data monitoring software and analysis as well as CR’s patented, best practice designs – reduces weight, increases payload, and maximizes availability for dragline operations in the Bowen Basin and the Hunter Valley.

The staff at CR thoroughly enjoyed the visits by the politicians and appreciated the opportunity to showcase the value and quality of locally produced products for the Mackay mining region.
