David started as a Graduate Engineer at LC Engineering (later acquired by CR Powered by Epiroc) in 2013 after completing his thesis in discrete element modeling of iron ore and overburden.
Interested in the design of mining machines from a trip to an underground mine in high school, David worked validating bucket lip designs, and modeling material bonding and flow before moving towards developing software to analyze the array of valuable data collected by the Titan 3330™ Load Haul Optimization System.
David now works as our Analysis & Improvement Lead/Product Owner, developing the revolutionary Orion Data Analytics platform ensuring customers have bespoke, data-driven solutions to drive efficiency at their mine site.
“I’ve never felt like a cog in the wheel at CR Powered by Epiroc, I’ve always found my job interesting and meaningful. I enjoy coming to work every day as I feel part of a collaborative team with great managers and learning opportunities. I’ve been able to experience different roles and develop a range of useful skills.
I started in a technical role and progressed to where I am now, so seeing different parts of the business has been incredibly interesting. The travel and opportunities are great – I moved to Western Australia for six months to help train technicians and support or customers, which was a fantastic experience.
At the end of the day, the work I do makes an impact on the efficiency and safety of people’s jobs which is great to know.”
