Ian started at CR Powered by Epiroc in 2013 as a Senior Engineer with a mechanical engineering and material handling background.
In 2019, Ian progressed at CR by entering the Technical Manager – Global Contract role. He looked after a key CR Powered by Epiroc global customer to ensure they had an expert consultant for technical support and product development.
Since then, in 2022, Ian has become Projects Manager – Strategic Projects. This role involves project management and developing CR’s next-generation HEX Lip Systems and related products. His daily tasks include supporting his team, engaging with customer representatives, providing support to field trials, and testing concept prototypes.
“The entire company is working towards one goal, with different teams collaborating and celebrating unified success. Your efforts are recognized and appreciated, and there is a supportive and friendly culture that is nice to be part of.”
Over his time at CR, Ian has been involved in developing, field testing, and optimizing a spectrum of products, including GET lips and rigging, and was heavily engaged in finishing the design of CR Powered by Epiroc’s first rope shovel product, the DipperEdge.
‘CR has allowed me to advance and broaden my project management and engineering skills. I’m able to achieve this though the different roles and opportunities and especially with the groundbreaking project I’m currently engaged with.’
Outside work, Ian raises teenagers, cycles, plays badminton and table tennis, and likes to build in his home workshop.
