Mr Hutcheon spoke proudly of the more than forty-year link that CR has to Mackay, having established operations in the Mackay back in 1979.
Across the last 12 months, CR has expanded and diversified our product range acquiring several businesses including Berkeley Forge, Thunderbird Drilling Technology and Keech’s underground G.E.T product line. Our expansion has positioned CR as a leading global supplier of surface and underground mining technology solutions. With the advantage of local engineering, design and manufacturing, CR has maintained excellent and reliable supply of products and services to customers around the world. Local manufacturing is at the core of CR’s competitive strategy with a Foundry operating in Maryborough, Queensland, and manufacturing facilities across Mackay in Queensland and Tomago in NSW as well as distribution centres located in other regions to support our market requirements.
CR’s Mackay manufacturing facility produces our market leading Hurricane Dragline Buckets and Rigging. CR collaborates with several other high-quality local suppliers to provide excellent mining related products and services. This is highlighted by CR’s Hurricane dragline bucket known globally as the leader in design innovation and production quality proudly designed and produced in the Mackay local area.
Our unique scale-testing facility located at CR’s Technology Park in Goodna, Queensland – combined with dragline production data monitoring software and analysis as well as CR’s patented, best practice designs – reduces weight, increases payload and maximises availability for dragline operations in the Bowen Basin and the Hunter Valley.
The staff at CR thoroughly enjoyed the visits by the politicians and appreciated the opportunity to showcase the value and quality of locally produced products for the Mackay mining region.
