Meet Brendan

Brendan Waterman CR Engineering Manager

Meet Brendan, our Engineering Manager. Brendan started with CR Powered by Epiroc as a design engineer in 2014, before being tapped to bring his talents to different business units, first to run the national technical field services team, then product management, before back to engineering and his current role.

Brendan knew from a young age that he would be an engineer. “I’ve always known that I was going to be an engineer. Growing up, I loved working on and fixing things. I first wanted to be an auto mechanic, but then I found out about engineering and never looked back,” he says.

That led to a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of WA. When he joined CR Powered by Epiroc, he was drawn to the opportunity to join a fantastic team working in an exciting industry with lots of growth potential.

As Engineering Manager, Brendan manages a team of 15 engineers responsible for our mining products, from design to manufacture and support. The current priority for his team is developing the next generation of cast lips for the mines of the future. We can’t give too much away at the moment, but stay up to date to be the first to know about future launches.

Brendan appreciates “the growth and opportunity available at CR Powered by Epiroc. We’re providing real solutions to technical challenges, which creates plenty of opportunities to develop and challenge myself.”

Outside of work, you can catch Brendan staying active by golfing, mountain biking, traveling (when that’s an option again), and taking his German Shepherd for walks.
